Daily Reports-May 16, 2021

Wanted Person-A deputy responded to the international port of entry two shortly before 10 AM this morning after agents at the port reported detaining a male subject when a background check revealed multiple active warrants for his arrest. The warrants out of the Maverick County Sheriff's Office on the subject identified as thirty-one year old Nathan Cortez were confirmed and Cortez was taken into custody before being transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. 

Possession of a Controlled Substance-A traffic stop on a 2010 Chrysler 300 this evening led to the arrest of twenty-seven year old Christian Anthony Corpus after a search of the vehicle found him in possession of multiple Xanax pills without a prescription. Corpus was then transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. 

Wanted Person-Deputies working with the US Marshals detained twenty-seven year old Juan Gilberto Escalante, Jr. on an active felony sexual assault warrant. Mr. Escalante was taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for further processing.
