Maverick County Daily Reports-May 30, 2020

Public Intoxication/Possession of a Controlled Substance-A deputy patrolling FM 1021 observed a Chrysler 300 with its hazard lights activated on the side of the roadway this morning. Contact was made with a male subject, later identified as Josue Rocha, who advised the vehicle had run out of gas. The subject displayed a slurred speech and bloodshot eyes and emitted an alcoholic odor from his person, prompting the deputy to detain him for investigative purposes. His passenger, Adan Rocha, Jr.  was also detained after an open container was observed on the passenger side floor board. A wrecker service was called to the scene and an inventory of the vehicle led to the discovery of a crystal like substance with methamphetamine characteristics wrapped inside a piece of foil paper on the passenger seat. Both subjects were then placed under arrest on public intoxication charges and Adan Rocha was also charged with possession of a controlled substance. The two were transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Aggravated Assault-Deputies responded to a call near Dr. Gates Drive in the Seco Mines area this afternoon, where a highly intoxicated male subject was found with a stab wound. The subject was transported to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center for further treatment while deputies at the scene made contact with several witnesses. This case remains under investigation.

Wanted Person-CBP agents at the international port of entry 2 detained a male subject after a background check revealed a possible warrant. The warrant out of Nueces County for the subject identified as Jonathan Elizalde was confirmed as active and he was taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
