Recovered Stolen Vehicle/Motor Vehicle Accident/Theft of Property-Units this morning responded to US Highway 277 North near Nalie Road in Quemado after a the driver of a 2015 Nissan Rogue reversing the vehicle drove into a canal. The driver, thirty-two year old Adam Lee Gomez was transported to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center for further medical attention. Upon being released from the hospital, Mr. Gomez was taken into custody after a check revealed the Nissan vehicle involved in the accident had previously been reported stolen out of the Austin Police Department. Wrecker services at the scene impounded to the vehicle to the Maverick County Sheriff's Office for investigative purposes.
Burglary of Vehicle-A complainant told deputies unknown subject(s) had entered his vehicle and took a handgun from the glove compartment without consent. A black holster and two gun magazines were also taken from the compartment. A formal report was filed.
Assault/Family Violence-Deputies this evening met with a complainant who reported his stepfather had become verbally aggressive towards him and struck him in the facial and stomach area several times. The complainant displayed several bruises to the facial and head area and was transported to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center for further evaluation. A formal report was filed.
