Maverick County Daily Reports-March 09, 2020

Family Violence/Assault-A resident on Ramirez Road reported she had been involved in an argument with her younger brother, who had become upset and physically assaulted her. EMS crews arrived at the scene to transport the subject to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center for further medical evaluation.

Hit and Run-A unit responded to the Maverick County Lake this evening after a subject reported he had been fishing when a black Jeep struck his parked vehicle. The Jeep then struck a Ford F-150 vehicle attempting to impede its path before fleeing the scene of the accident. EMS crews were summoned to the scene and a formal report was filed.

Interfering with Public Duties, Resisting Arrest- A resident on the 200 block of Candelario Montalvo advised deputies his daughter had arrived at the home under the influence of an unknown narcotic and began assaulting his son. Upon arrival, deputies observed a female subject in an aggressive state. A Tribal Police unit nearby assisted in detaining the female subject, later identified as twenty-seven year old Alexandra Noriega, who was taken into custody after a brief struggle. She was then transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.


Possession of a Controlled Substance-Deputies this evening were advised by agents at the international port of entry 2 they had detained a female subject found in possession of a controlled substance. A secondary check on a 2017 Chevrolet Aveo revealed anomalies in the vehicle and a physical inspection yielded the discovery of approximately 12,480 g of cocaine. Thirty-seven year old Esmirna Vasquez Gonzalez was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center. The narcotics were seized and inventoried before being placed in the County evidence locker.
