Possession of a Controlled Substance-Border Patrol agents working the checkpoint on US Highway 57 this morning made contact with deputies after a pat down on a male subject yielded the discovery of a clear baggy containing a white powdery substance in his possession. The substance was determined to be cocaine and the subject, identified as thirty-six year old Juan Carlos Sanchez was placed under arrest. He was then transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
Wanted Person-A traffic stop on a Nissan Sentra using fictitious license plates found the driver, Marcos J. Martinez, with an active warrant for his arrest out of Maverick County. The warrant on evading arrest charges was confirmed and Martinez was taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
