Maverick County Daily Reports-January 19, 2020

Driving While Intoxicated- A deputy patrolling FM 1021 this morning made a traffic stop on a white Dodge Durango after observing the driver had made a wide turn onto the middle lane of 1021 before turning onto the inner lane. Contact was made with the driver, Dionocio Esquibel, III, whose vehicle emitted a strong alcoholic odor. Mr. Esquibel was advised to step out of the vehicle and displayed unstable movements and slurred speech in doing so. He would agree to a breath specimen and standard field sobriety exams before being placed into custody and transported to Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Deceased Person-A unit responded the Rio Grande River by FM 1907 this morning after US Border Patrol agents reported they had located a deceased subject floating in the river. The body of a male subject presumed to be an undocumented citizen was recovered and a Justice of the Peace was notified before declaring the subject deceased.
