Maverick County Daily Reports-January 17, 2020

Evading Arrest or Detention/Resisting Arrest/Wanted Person-Shortly after 11 AM this morning, county units responded to Calle Escuela after receiving reports of a disturbance in progress. Upon arrival, deputies attempted to make contact with the residents at the location, but instead saw a male subject leaving the home through the back entrance. The subject, forty-three year old Mario Perez, Jr., refused to comply with requests and led deputies on a brief pursuit before being detained. A check revealed an open warrant for his arrest out of Dimmit County on a possessions charge. He was then transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Assault/Family Violence-A female complainant on Sunset Loop reported she had been involved in a verbal disagreement with her husband before he assaulted her. EMS crews were at the scene and the victim was later transported to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center for further evaluation. Her husband, Sabino Hernandez, Jr., was later located and placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Possession of Marijuana under 2 oz.-Robert Sheridon Vega was arrested at the US Border Patrol checkpoint on US Highway 57 this evening after agents detained him when they located a small amount of marijuana in his possession. Mr. Vega took ownership of the marijuana, approximately .03 oz, and was placed under arrest before being transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Possession of a Controlled Substance-Damiana Garza was arrested on a possession of a controlled substance charge after a search yielded the discovery of approximately .40g of methamphetamine in her possession. She was then transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
