Maverick County Daily Reports-January 10, 2020

Possession of a Controlled Substance-Deputies on Hilltop Street this morning found the driver of a vehicle in the middle of the street asleep behind the wheel. Contact was made with Ignacio Torres, Jr., who displayed signs of intoxication. A pat down was then conducted and he was found in possession of a clear plastic bag containing methamphetamine. He was taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Motor Vehicle Accident/Hit and Run/Resisting Arrest-Units responded to the intersection of Loop 480 and FM 1021 this morning after a 2009 Ford Focus was struck from behind by the driver of a vehicle seen fleeing the area. EMS crews were summoned to the location and the female driver of the Ford was transported to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center for further treatment. A vehicle matching the description of the one seen leaving the accident was later located on the 2700 block of Acacia Drive. Contact was made with nineteen year old Jorge Maldonado who began to resist detention. He was eventually placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. This case is under investigation.

Wanted Person-Diego Ramirez was taken into custody at the Maverick County Adult Probation Department this morning after a check revealed an active warrant for his arrest. The warrant was confirmed and Ramirez was then transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Burglary of Habitation-A complainant on the 1000 block of Erika reported unknown subject(s) entered their residence without consent and took a Dell Laptop. A formal report was filed.
