Maverick County Daily Reports-December 24, 2019

Possession of Marijuana under 2 oz./Public Intoxication-Units responded to the 3000 block of US Highway 277 north this morning after receiving reports of a male subject found laying in front of a gas station. Contact was made with the subject, later identified as thirty-two year old Juan Manuel Hernandez, who was found asleep with a marijuana cigarette in his hand. Mr. Hernandez displayed a slurred speech and unbalanced movements. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.  

Possession of a Controlled Substance-A unit responded to the international port of entry 2 this evening after K9 agents reported they had located a baggie containing methamphetamine inside a 2010 Kia Optima driven by a female subject identified as Lucille Smith. Ms. Smith was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. The vehicle was inventoried and impounded by a local wrecker service. 

Public Intoxication-Solome Tapia-Salinas was placed under arrest on public intoxication charges after he was seen walking on FM1021. Upon making contact with Salinas, deputies determined he was in a highly intoxicated state. He was then transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
