Maverick County Daily Reports-December 23, 2019

Burglary of Habitation-A resident on the 500 block of Mela Garcia Rd. reported a known male subject had entered the residence without her consent and took a television set from the property. A formal report was filed.

Motor Vehicle Accident with a Fixed Object/Public Intoxication-Deputies responded to the 900 block of Progresso this morning, whereupon arrival observed a 2009 Chevrolet Impala had struck a tree. A male subject at the scene later identified as Angel Huerta was placed under arrest after he displayed several signs of intoxication. He was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing and the vehicle was towed from the scene by a local wrecker service. 

Burglary of Vehicle-A resident on the 400 block of Margarita reported unknown subject(s) gained entry into her vehicle without consent and took several items. A formal report was filed. 

Burglary of Vehicle-A deputy was dispatched to Linda Circle after a resident reported unknown subject(s) had taken several items from her vehicle without her consent. A formal report was filed.

Wanted Person-Jesus Correa Lopez was arrested at the international port of entry 1 this afternoon after a check revealed an active warrant. The warrant was confirmed and Lopez was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Motor Vehicle Accident with a Fixed Object/Driving While License Invalid with Prior Convictions-Deputies responded to Memo Robinson Road this afternoon, where a 2012 Malibu travelling northbound at a high rate of speed veered off the road, striking a utility pole. The impact caused a power outage throughout several neighborhoods in the area and a check on the driver, identified as Christian Anthony Corpus, revealed his license was actively suspended for previous convictions of driving without a license. He was taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
