Maverick County Daily Reports-September 03, 2019

Possession of Marijuana-Deputies on patrol this morning conducted a traffic stop on a 2008 Volkswagen Rabbit. Contact was made with the occupants of the vehicle, identified as Angel Daniel Pizana, Rosalinda Cruz Garcia, and Victoria Lee Guerrero. The group was found to be in possession of marijuana and were transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Wanted Person-A county unit was dispatched to the international port of entry 2 this morning after customs agents at the port detained a male subject whose background check revealed an open warrant for his arrest. Forty-seven year old Oscar Godina was placed  under arrest after the warrant was confirmed as active. He was then transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Family Violence/Assault-Deputies responded to Lagos Drive after a female complainant reported she had been physically assaulted by spouse this afternoon, leaving minor bodily injury. Contact was made with the male subject, identified as Leonel Macias, who was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Aggravated Assault-Javier Alejandro Contreras, Jr. was taken into custody near the 1900 block of Coyunda late this afternoon after initially reporting he had been assaulted by his brother and stepfather. Contact was made with the two subjects involved, who reported they had been assaulted by Contreras after he displayed a knife with the intentions of causing intimidation. Mr. Contreras was later placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Credit/Debit Card Abuse-A complainant on the the 600 block of Bishop Gracida reported a known male subject had used her credit card to make a purchase without her consent. A formal report was filed.
