Maverick County Sheriff Weekend Report


Theft
Maverick County Sheriff’s Office
Complainant stated that she left her belongings at a known male subject’s residence. Complainant then stated that the known male subject later admitted to her that he had pawned her belongings without her consent. Complainant wished to file a report regarding the matter. Report was taken.

Theft
Maverick County Sheriff’s Office
Complainant was an inmate at the Tom Bowles Detention Center who stated that another inmate took money from his property without his effective consent. Complainant wished to file a report. Report 
was taken.

Recovered Stolen Property
Maverick County Sheriff’s Office
Reporting person advised that an item not belonging to him was located in his property. Criminal Investigations Division was contacted in which later made contact with reporting person. Item found was then revealed to belong to a victim of a recent burglary of habitation. CID then retrieved the item. Report was taken.

Motor Vehicle Accident w/Fixed Object
Highway 57/State Loop 480
Female driver stated that she was traveling southbound on Highway 57 on her silver in color 2018 Chevrolet Cruze. Female driver further stated that she tried to avoid a collision with a tractor trailer that was traveling at very low speed causing her to swerve to the right. Female driver then stated that she panicked causing her to exit the highway striking a sign. Female driver refused medical attention at the time of report. Damages were observed on the sign and on the vehicle. Report was taken.

Terroristic Threats
Maverick County Sheriff’s Office
Complainant stated a known male subject had threatened to cause her harm in which complainant fears for her safety. Complainant stated she has filed several reports against the known male subject with the Eagle Pass Police Department. Case was turned over to the Criminal Investigations Department.

Aggravated assault with deadly weapon
2800 Block of Frances Gates Loop
Reporting person stated that she feared for her son's safety in which she kicked opened the residence door and noticed the living room television set broken and several items scattered all over the floor. Reporting person stated that she made contact with two known male subjects in which they left the scene prior to deputies’ arrival. Reporting person also stated that her son advised her that unknown male subject(s) had displayed a weapon towards him. Deputy then made contact with reporting person's son (victim) who stated that several unidentified male subjects and one unidentified female subject had entered his residence in which wanted to start a physical altercation. Male victim also displayed blood shut eyes, slur speech and strong odor of alcohol emitting from his person. Male victim stated that he could not identify subjects who entered his residence. Reporting person stated that her son had been consuming unknown type of narcotics and was being uncooperative. Emergency Medical Services arrived at location but victim refused medical attention at time of report. The Maverick County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division was contacted in reference to this incident. Report was taken.

Unauthorized Use of Motor Vehicle

Complainant stated that he took his vehicle, red in color Pontiac Trans Am for repair at a mechanic shop operated by a known male subject. Complainant stated that back in April of 2019 he went to check status on his vehicle in which he was advised by known male subject that the vehicle had been sold without his effective consent. Complainant further stated that he returned to the shop a few days ago after being advised a different story regarding his vehicle. Complainant stated that known male subject advised him that he still had the vehicle at mechanic shop in which complainant confirmed is not. Vehicle was then entered into the NCIC/TCIC system as a stolen vehicle. Complainant wished to file a report regarding the matter. Report was taken.

Missing Person
Maverick County Sheriff’s Office
Reporting person stated her father in law went missing on 07/23/2019. Reporting person further stated her father in law possibly got in an argument with her mother in law. The reporting person further advised her father in law could possibly be in a location in Mexico. The missing person was entered in to the TCIC/NCIC system as a missing person.

Motor Vehicle Accident
FM 1021
Units responded to FM1021 in regards to a motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival Deputy made contact with unit 2 (03, silver, Chevrolet, Impala) who advised while traveling northbound on FM1021 unit 1 struck her vehicle. Unit 1 advised while exiting the Strips parking lot she entered FM1021 and struck unit 2. All occupants refused medical attention at the time of incident. 

Hit and Run
1000 Block Fresno Street
Complainant advised an unknown vehicle struck her vehicle (2018, Silver, Jeep, Reneged) in which it left the area without reporting it. Complainant wished to file a formal report in regards to this matter.

Harassment
215 Balcones Boulevard
Complainant advised unknown actor(s) have been calling her cell phone multiple times without answering. Complainant advised she feels alarmed and annoyed with the calls.

Simple Assault/Public Intoxication
400 Block Zaragoza Street
Units responded to a possible assault in progress by said location. Upon arrival Deputy made contact with a male subject on the middle of the roadway who displayed signs of intoxication. Male subject stated him and his common law wife had a verbal argument where his common law wife daughter interfered. Contact was later made with the common law wife in which she stated that her common law husband later identified as Enrique Casares Jr. (33yrs) was highly intoxicated and under the influence of narcotics. Common law wife further stated that a verbal argument ensued where Casares became aggressive and pushed her daughter due to her interfering. Upon further investigation Casares was placed under arrest for public intoxication and simple assault and was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Public Intoxication
Casino Parking Lot
Deputy was dispatched to the Kickapoo Lucky Eagle Casino parking lot in reference to Casino Police Department having two male subjects detained due to being intoxicated. Upon arrival, contact was made with two male subjects who displayed signs of intoxication, blood shot eyes, slurred speech and emitted a strong odor of some type of alcoholic beverage from their person. Male subjects later identified Juan Julian Munoz Medrano (28yrs) and Jesus Armando Medina (39yrs) were placed under arrest for public intoxication and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Possession of Controlled Substances
US Border Patrol Check Point
BP Agents advised they had a male subject identified as Richard Cassias Jr (31) detained after being found in possession of controlled substance, possession of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia, attempting to travel through the BP Checkpoint. Cassias was placed under arrest for the possession of controlled substance and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for further processing. Cassias was issued a citation for the possession of marijuana and the drug paraphernalia. Narcotics were placed in the Maverick County Evidence locker. Report was taken.

Assault
2500 Block of Rosita Valley Road
Complainant stated that known male subject identified as Martin Portillo (46) became angry and struck her in the facial area with closed fist. Complainant displayed injury in which emergency medical services was summoned. EMS arrived and complainant refused medical transport. Portillo was placed under arrest for assault and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for further processing. Report was taken.

Harassment by Electronic Device
Maverick County Sheriff’s Office
Reporting person advised that unknown subject is constantly sending inappropriate messages and pictures to her juvenile daughter via social media (Snap Chat). Reporting person is upset and concerned for her daughter and wished to file a report regarding the matter. Report was taken.

MVA/Criminal Mischief
800 Block Rosita Valley Road
Complainant advised that unknown male subject and female subject struck a fence with a purple in color 1997 Plymouth Voyager and then backed up into the complainant’s vehicle, blue in color 2004  Chevrolet SUV. Complainant then stated that unknown male subject and female subject then intentionally caused damages to his Chevrolet SUV. Complainant further stated that the male and female left the area running. Complainant and his female passenger refused medical attention. Deputy made contact with tenants of property of damaged fence. Wrecker Service later impounded the Plymouth Voyager. Complainant wished to file a report regarding the matter. Report was taken.

Port of Entry #1
Wanted Person
Deputy was dispatched to the Port of Entry 1 in reference to a wanted male subject. Upon arrival, contact was made with Customs Agent who stated they had a male subject detained for having an outstanding warrant. A NCIC/TCIC check was conducted on the male subject later identified as Magdaleno Martinez (46yrs) which revealed he had an active warrant out of the US Marshall Service Headquarters in Arlington for probation violation. Magdaleno was then placed under arrest and was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for further processing. Report was filed.

Possession of Controlled Substance
Border Patrol South Station
Deputy was dispatched to Border Patrol South Station in reference to a possession report. Upon arrival, Deputy made contact with Border Patrol Agent who stated he had three male subjects detained due to being in possession of a controlled substance (liquid methamphetamine) (55.13 Kg). Border Patrol Agent stated the liquid methamphetamine was extracted from a 2006 Dodge Durango gas tank. Border Patrol Agent further stated the Dodge Durango and a 2017 Ford Mustang were involved in the possession of a controlled substance. Deputy then detained all occupants of both vehicles involved and transported them to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for investigation purposes. Briones Wrecker Service was summoned to location in which both vehicles were inventoried and impounded to the Maverick County Sheriff's Office.  Deputy then recovered the controlled substance liquid methamphetamine in which it was taken to the Maverick County Sheriff’s Office where it was tagged as evidence. Upon further investigation, a male subject later identified as Bryant Barajas (23 YOA) was then placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance. Case is under investigation.

Harassment by Phone
2000 Block of Siwell
Deputy was dispatched to the 2000 block of Siwell in reference to a harassment by phone report. Upon arrival, contact was made with the complainant who stated that a known male subject has been constantly sending her text messages using vulgar language. The complainant stated that the messages have caused her to feel alarmed and annoyed. Report was filed.

Motor Vehicle Accident
Whataburger Parking Lot
Deputy was dispatched to the Whataburger Parking Lot. Deputy made contact with EPPD Officer who stated a male subject fell asleep while stationary inside his vehicle. Upon attempting to wake the male subject, male subject released the breaks to his vehicle causing it to strike EPPD unit front grille. EPPD placed the male subject under arrest on different charges.

Casino Grocery
FM 021
Deputy was patrolling FM 1021 and noticed a vehicle improperly parked at the parking lot of the Casino Grocery. Deputy then made contact with a male subject who was already out of his vehicle. Male subject displayed blood shot eyes and presented a strong odor of an unknown alcoholic beverage emitting from or on his person. The male subject identified as Abner Garcia (25 YOA) was then placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for further processing. The white Dodge Ram 1500 was then impounded by Briones Wrecker Service.

Harassment by electronical device
200 Block of School Circle
On today's date, a Deputy was dispatched to said location in reference to harassment report. Upon arrival, contact was made with reporting person who stated that her ex-boyfriend (known male subject) had been sending her unwanted messages via social media (Messenger) in which she feels annoyed. Reporting person stated that she wishes for the messages to stop and wished to file a report regarding the matter.

Family Violence Assault
County Road 215
Maverick County patrol units were dispatched to 100 block of County Road 215 in reference to disturbance in progress. Upon arrival, Deputies made contact with complainant who stated she arrived to her residence where a verbal argument escalated between her and her common law husband. Complainant further stated the verbal argument escalated to her getting physically assaulted by her common law husband. Complainant then stated she has had previous family violence assault reports involving her common law husband. Due to Complainant’s injuries, common law husband later identified as Marcos Martinez (38yrs) was placed under arrest for family violence assault and was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. Complainant refused medical attention at the time of report.

Wanted Person
Port of Entry #2
Deputy was dispatched to Port of Entry #2 in reference to wanted person. Upon arrival, I made contact with CBP Agent who stated he had a male subject detained due to an active warrant. Male subject later identified as Sergio De Alba was ran by the NCIC/TCIC system in which it revealed an active warrant from Bexar County Sheriff’s Office for Robbery. Sergio De Alba (18yrs) was placed under arrest and transported to Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Family Violence Assault
200 Block Las Moras
Maverick County patrol units responded to the 200 blocks complainant who stated that her husband later identified as Ignacio Rodriguez was highly intoxicated and began accusing her of cheating on him with their neighbor. Complainant further stated that Ignacio began to be verbally aggressive towards her and began to use vulgar language. Complainant then stated the verbal abuse escalated to Ignacio physically assaulting her. Upon further investigation, Ignacio Rodriguez (69yrs) was then placed under arrest for family violence assault and was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for further processing. Complainant wished to file charges against Ignacio Rodriguez. Complainant refused medical attention at the time of report.

Criminal Mischief
100 Block Alazan Drive
Complainant wished to file a report in reference to a known female subject who forcibly entered his residence and shattered his flat screen television. Report was filed.
