Maverick County Sheriff Weekend Report


Wanted Person
Memo Robinson Road
Deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation on Memo Robinson. Upon making contact with male operator identified as Indalecio Ramirez Verastigue (24), Deputy conducted an NCIC/TCIC check on said male. NCIC/TCIC check return revealed an active warrant out of Maverick County. Verastigue was then placed under arrest for the active warrant and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for further processing. Verastigue was also issued a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia, no driver license, and disregarding a red light. Vehicle was later impounded by wrecker service. A report was filed.

Hit and Run
Highway 277 North
Deputy was dispatched to Stripes Store located on Hwy 277 North in reference to a hit and run report. Upon arrival, contact was made with a female complainant who stated that unknown subject struck her vehicle, 2015 Nissan Altima gray in color with unknown vehicle. Complainant stated that she was traveling south bound on Hwy 277 North during dark hours when she felt the impact on her vehicle but was unable to see the suspect vehicle. Vehicle had damages on the left side. Complainant wished to file a report in reference to the matter. Complainant refused medical attention. A report was filed.

Motor Vehicle Accident w/Fixed Object
Tierra Soberana
Deputies responded to a motor vehicle accident with a fixed object on Tierra Soberana. Upon arrival, Deputy observed a 2010 Chevrolet Malibu blue in color crashed with a light pole. Deputy also observed that the vehicle was unoccupied at the time of arrival. Deputies searched the area for the operator to no avail. Vehicle was later impounded by wrecker service. A report was filed.

Motor Vehicle Accident w/Fixed Object
Rosita Valley Road/Lucky Eagle Road
Deputies responded to Lucky Eagle Road in reference to a motor vehicle accident w/ fixed object. Driver of a white 2014 Scion FRS was travelling westbound on Lucky Eagle Road in which she lost control of the vehicle and struck a pole. Driver refused medical attention at the time of report. Balde’s Wrecker Service was summoned to location in which arrangements were made on scene.

Possession of Controlled Substance
1600 Block Eidson Road
Contact was made with a female Complainant who stated that her son was in possession of a controlled substance. Contact was then made with the complainant's juvenile son who admitted to the cartridge containing THC being his. Criminal investigation Division was contacted and was notified of the situation. The male juvenile was released on pending charges. The evidence was recovered, bagged, tagged, and placed in the evidence locker. Case remains under investigation.

Motor Vehicle Accident
FM 1021/Loop 480
Deputies responded to FM1021 and Loop 480 in regards to a motor vehicle accident. Driver of a beige 2006 Nissan Sentra struck who was travelling westbound on FM1021 struck silver 2018 Ford Escape on the rear. Both drivers refused medical attention at the time of report.

Motor Vehicle Accident w/Fixed Object
County Road 307
Deputy responded to County Road 307 in reference to a motor vehicle accident w/ fixed object. Driver of a 2008 Kia utility trailer jackknifed a property fence line as he attempted to conduct a turnaround.  Driver refused medical attention at the time of report. Baldes Wrecker Service was summoned to location to assist in removing the utility trailer from being jackknifed.

Wanted Person
US Border Patrol South Station
Deputy was dispatched to the U.S Border Patrol South Station in reference to a possible wanted person. Contact was later made with Border Patrol Agent who stated they had a male subject detained due to having an active warrant. A TCIC/NCIC system check was conducted on male subject identified as Sergio Torres-Alcantar (30yrs). System check revealed Alcantar had an outstanding warrant out of Harris County Sheriff’s Office for Failure to Appear. Alcantar was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Burglary of Building
1800 Block Eidson Road
Deputy was dispatched to the 1800 block of Eidson Road in reference to a burglary of a building report. Upon arrival, contact was made with the complainant who stated unknown subject(s) forcibly entered his house that is under construction. The complainant advised the unknown subject(s) took several items from the master bedroom without his consent. A report was filed.

Motor Vehicle Accident
Highway 277 North/Dr. Gates
Deputies responded to the intersection of Hwy 277 North and Dr Gates in reference to a motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival, Deputy observed a 2007 silver in color Hyundai passenger car that was struck in the rear by a 2002 white in color GMC pickup while at a red traffic light. Deputy made contact with both vehicle passengers who all refused medical attention at the time of report. Driver of GMC pickup was issued a citation for no driver license. A report was taken.

Animal Cruelty
484 Canal Drive
Deputy was dispatched to the 400 block of Canal Drive regarding animal cruelty. Upon arrival, Deputy was advised to check status on a horse which is being malnourished. Deputy searched the area for the aforementioned horse to no avail. Complainant wished to file. Report was taken.

Harassment/Terroristic Threats
30556 Alvin Circle
Deputy was dispatched to the 3000 block of Alvin Circle in reference to harassment and terroristic threats. Upon arrival, contact was made with complainant who stated that a known male subject constantly harasses her in which makes her feel concerned. Complainant also stated that said male subject has made deadly comments towards her in which she feels fear for her life. Complainant wished to file a report in reference to the matter. A report was taken.

Public Intoxication
Eidson Road
Deputy observed a female walking on Eidson stumbling, unable to balance. Deputy proceeded to making contact with female to check status. Upon making contact with female later identified as Jeanette Aguilar (36), Aguilar emitted a strong odor of unknown alcoholic beverage. Aguilar then admitted to drinking alcohol prior to walking. Aguilar displayed bloodshot eyes and had slurred speech. Aguilar was then placed under arrest for public intoxication when she endangered herself, the motoring public, and was intoxicated in public. Aguilar was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for further processing and issued a citation. Report was taken.

Wanted Person
Brown Street
Deputy was dispatched to Brown Street in reference to a wanted person detained by Eagle Pass Police Department. Upon arrival, contact was made with EPPD who advised they had a male identified as Mario Alberto Diaz (23) detained for a local felony warrant. Deputy conducted an NCIC/TCIC check on Diaz in which return revealed an active warrant out of Maverick County. Diaz was placed under arrest for the active warrant and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for further processing. Report was taken.

Reckless Driver
North Veterans
Deputy conducted a traffic stop on a 2005 Harley Davidson motorcycle for traveling at a high rate of speed. Deputy then made contact with operator of motorcycle identified as Enrique Esquivel (41). Esquivel was then placed under arrest for reckless driving and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for further processing. Esquivel was then issued a citation for reckless driving. Report was taken.

Hit and Run
Casino Shell Gas Station FM 1021
Deputy was dispatched to the Casino Shell Gas Station located on FM 1021 in reference to a hit and run report. Upon arrival, contact was made with complainant who stated that he had his vehicle, 2003 tan in color Chevrolet Trailblazer, stationary at the gas station when his vehicle was struck by a 1997 black in color Honda passenger car. Complainant stated that he was in the driver seat while a female passenger was laying the rear seat when the incident occurred. Both vehicle occupants refused medical attention. Honda was later located by Tribal Police in a Tribal residential area. Deputy then attempted to make contact with Honda owners to no avail. Chevrolet Trailblazer retrieved damages on the left side area. Complainant wished to file a report regarding the matter. Report was taken.

Wanted Person
3200 block of Freson Loop
Maverick County Units were dispatched to Fresno Loop in reference to gun shots being fired. Deputies were patrolling Fresno Loop in search of the gun shots where Deputy noticed a male subject standing in his front yard who is known to be wanted out of Maverick County Sheriff’s Office. Contact was made with the male subject later identified as Juan Jaime Stockley (23yrs) who was then detained. A NCIC/TCIC check was conducted on Stockley which revealed he had nine warrants out of Maverick County. Stockley was then placed under arrest. A safety pat-down was conducted on Stockley where a blue glass pipe was located on his right front pocket. Stockley was then transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for further processing. Stockley was then issued a citation for drug paraphernalia.

Terroristic Threat
1300 block of Agarita
Deputy was dispatched to the 1300 block of Agarita Drive in reference to a terroristic threat report. Contact was made with complainant who stated he has been having ongoing issues with a known male subject. Complainant further stated a note was left by the front door with the threatening to cause physical harm. Complainant suspects it was the known male subject who had left the not by his front door. Report filed.

Wanted Person
Eagle Pass Police Department
Deputy was dispatched to the Eagle Police Department in reference to a wanted male subject. Contact was then made with Eagle Pass Police Department Officer who stated they had a male subject detained later identified as Ricardo Diaz for having two outstanding warrants out of Maverick County. A NCIC/TCIC check was conducted on Diaz which revealed he had an active warrant for driving while intoxicated and a second active warrant for resisting arrest. Diaz was then placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for further processing.

Public Intoxication
Port of Entry #2
Deputy was dispatched to the Port of Entry #2 in reference to an intoxicated male subject. Upon arrival, contact was made CBP Agent who stated they had male subject who travelling from Mexico in a 2010 Ford F-150 into the United States. Agent further stated that when contact was made with the male subject, male subject emitted a strong odor of some type of alcoholic beverage, slurred speech and blood shot eyes. Vehicle was referred secondary where an interior search was conducted in which Agents located several empty alcoholic containers. Deputy makes contact with the male subject later identified as Pedro Arnaldo Tovar (46yrs) who displayed signs of intoxication. Tovar was later placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. Said vehicle was taking over by a family member on scene. Tovar was issued a citation for public intoxication and open containers.

Possession of Controlled Substance
FM 2030
Deputies were working Operation Stone Garden conducted a traffic stop on a Ford Mustang for a traffic violation.  Upon further investigation, Deputies located a crystal like substance with crystal meth characteristics inside a white pill key-chain attached to her handbag. Deputies also located a clear glass pipe on her right front pocket. The driver then admitted to the crystal like substance with crystal meth characteristics being hers. The driver (Amanda Rodriguez, 37) was placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance and was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for further processing. The vehicle was impounded by Balde's wrecker service. Report was filed.
