Maverick County Sheriff Daily Report


Illegal Alien
FM 131/US Highway 277 North
Deputies working Operation Stone Garden observed a suspicious male subject walking. Contact was then made with the male subject who admitted to the being in the U.S. illegally. Border Patrol was summoned to location and took custody of the illegal.

Deadly Conduct
600 Block of Alamo Street
Deputy made contact with a complainant by the Emergency Room who stated her three year old son was in the backyard with other family members when he was suddenly injured. The child was then taken to the emergency room where X-Rays revealed a bullet projectile inside the child’s leg. Investigation appears unknown subject(s) shot towards the air with a rifle causing the bullet to strike the child. The child was then transported to San Antonio for further treatment. Case under investigation.

Assault Family Violence
1700 Block Rainbow Circle
Deputies responded to a disturbance in progress. Contact was then made with the victim who stated he had a verbal argument with his girlfriend who then physically assaulted him. The victim refused to file charges.

Public Intoxication
4377 FM 1021
Deputies responded to Stripes Gas Station in regards to a suspicious male subject. Deputies then made contact with a male subject later identified as Gregorio Reyes-Barraza who was passed out in the floor to the men’s restroom. Reyes-Berraza displayed signs of being intoxicated in which he was then placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for further processing.
