May 2, 2019 - Maverick County Sheriffs Daily Report

Burglary of Vehicle
Deputies were dispatched to the 200 block Sunset Loop in reference to a burglary of vehicle report. Upon arrival, contact was made with Complainant who stated unknown subject(s) attempted to gain unlawful forced entry into 2012 Buick La Crosse. Complainant further stated that the unknown subject(s) used an unknown instrument in attempt to gain entry into the vehicle.

I-Case
Deputies responded to U. S Highway 277 East and State Loop 480 in reference to a motor vehicle accident. Driver of a 2013 white Kenmore Semi Trailer (Unit 2) was travelling eastbound on U.S Highway 277 East when Driver of a 2004 white CPS Semi Trailer (Unit 1) was exiting the off the ramp exiting 480 turning westbound. Driver of the white 2004 CPS Semi Trailer advised he didn’t see Unit 2 in which he entered the roadway causing the collision. Unit 1 haul rolled over on the roadway blocking all traffic. Unit 2 veered off the roadway. Driver of Unit 2 was transported to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center for minor injuries. Driver of Unit 1 refused medical attention at the time of report. Department of Public Safety took over scene.



Burglary of Building
Complainant wished to file a report in reference to a burglary of building that had occurred on December 2018. Complainant advised he never filed a police report thinking he would not recover the items that were taken. Complainant advised while at the EZ Pawn he located two power tools that were taken at the time of the incident. Complainant stated he suspects an employee at the time had taken them from a residence that was under construction. Complainant further stated he wishes to recover the power tool and file formal charges against the suspect.

Terroristic Threat
Complainant stated that he was texting with an unknown female he met in a chat and after a couple of texts messages, he lost interest in texting with the unknown female. Complainant further stated that early in the morning, on today's date, he received a text message from an unknown male subject demanding money due to the time he was texting with the unknown female and  if not threaten to cause serious bodily injuries or death to him and his family members. A report was filed.  

Motor Vehicle Accident
Deputies responded to Tierra Soberana in reference to a motor vehicle accident (rollover). Driver of a white 1999 Ford Escort was travelling southbound on Tierra Soberana. Said vehicle lost control veering to the left into the incoming lane in which it then rolled over. EMS arrived on scene where the driver later identified as Christi Ozuna (30yrs) was transported to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center. The vehicle was impounded by Cantu’s Wrecker Service.

Criminal Trespass
Deputy was dispatched to the 100 block of Sun Valley Trail in reference to a criminal trespass report. Upon arrival, contact was made with complainant who stated a known male subject continues to arrive to her residence without her effective consent.

Harassment
Deputies were dispatched to Maverick County Sheriff’s Office in reference to a complainant. Upon arrival, contact was made with complainant who advised that a known female is constantly sending her messages from different phone numbers annoying her. Complainant also stated that the known female was seen passing by the complainant’s residence and taking pictures of her property making her feel concerned. Complainant wished to file a report. A report was filed.

Hit and Run/Damage to Property
Deputies were dispatched to Maverick County Sheriff’s Office in reference to a complainant. Upon arrival, contact was made with male complainant who stated that unknown subject(s) struck his vehicle, white GMC Sierra Denali, with another unknown vehicle at the 1600 block of Ferrer Rd. Complainant advised he is not sure who and when it exactly occurred but he did not have damages when parking his vehicle outside his property. Complainant further stated that he later noticed there were also damages caused to one of the windows on his pickup but is unknown how that incident occurred. A report was filed.

Assault – Family Violence
Deputies responded to 100 block of Canal Street in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival deputy spoke to Complainant who stated that she and her husband were involved in a verbal argument in escalated into a physical altercation. A report was filed.

Criminal Mischief
Deputy was dispatched to 300 block of Wildwood in reference to a criminal mischief report. Upon arrival, deputy made contact with complainant who noticed his daughter’s bedroom window glass broken. Complainant wishes to file a report in reference to this matter. Case was turned over to the Maverick County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division for further investigation. 

Possession Marijuana under 2 OZ
Deputy was patrolling the area of the Maverick County Lake when I observed a vehicle recklessly driving. Upon making contact, vehicle emitted an odor of marijuana characteristics in which undersigned asked for consent to search the vehicle and consent was granted. Undersigned, while searching said vehicle, located a small clear plastic wrapped in a bundle containing a green leafy substance with marijuana characteristics. Driver was placed under arrest for the possession of marijuana and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for further processing. Vehicle was released to family members of the driver. Driver was issued a citation for the possession of marijuana.

Aggravated Assault with MV
Deputy was dispatched to 1700 block FM 2030 in reference to an assault report. Upon arrival, I made contact with complainant (Driver) who stated while driving on Karen Street, a pickup truck (unknown made or model) recklessly, knowing and intentionally struck complainant's vehicle on its rear bumper. Said pickup left the area prior my arrival. Complainant and female passenger refused medical attention at time of report. Case was turned over to the Maverick County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division for further investigation. 

Assault Family Violence
On above date and time, units responded to said location in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival deputy spoke to female complainant who stated that she was involved in physical altercation with her girlfriend.  Aggressor fled the scene prior arriving. A report was filed.
