Maverick County Sheriff Daily Report


Runaway
100 block East Texas (El Indio, Texas)
Deputy was dispatched to the Maverick County Sheriff's Office in reference to a runaway report via telephone. Upon arrival, contact was made with complainant who stated her juvenile grand-daughter had left the residence without her permission. Female juvenile was entered on TCIC/NCIC as a runaway.

I-Case
Highway 277 East
Deputy responded to said location in reference to a vehicle on fire. Upon arrival, deputy made contact with a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze engulfed in flames. Fire Department arrived at location and extinguished the fire. Case under investigation by the Fire Marshall Investigation Department. 

Public Intoxication
Potro/Eidson Street
Maverick County units were dispatched to the intersection of Potro Street and Eidson Road in reference to male subject lying on the ground. Upon arrival Deputy made contact with male subject later identified as Javier Enriquez Solis laying on the ground. Upon further investigation, Solis could not provide a reasonable answer after being asked where he was heading to. While speaking with Solis he had slurred speech, unbalanced movements and emitted a strong odor of an unknown alcoholic beverage from his person. Due to Solis's condition, Deputy formed an opinion that Solis was a danger to himself and to the motoring public, therefore he was placed under arrested and transported to the Tom Bowels Detention Center. Solis refused medical attention at the time of report.

Possession of Marijuana
Garcia Street/US Highway 277
Deputy conducted a traffic stop on a 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 for minor traffic violation. Vehicle came to a stop on Garcia Street near U.S Highway North 277. Deputy made contact with male driver, male passenger and female passenger of the vehicle in which the driver did not possess a valid Texas driver license. At the time of contact, each individual displayed signs of being under the influence of some type of narcotic. Consent to search said vehicle was obtained where a THC vape pen was located inside a subwoofer that was in the back seat. Due to the driver taking full responsibility of everything that was inside the vehicle, driver later identified as Mario Barrientos Jr. (18yrs) was later placed under arrest for Possession of Marijuana. Male passenger identified as Luis Xavier Torres-Gonzalez (22yrs) and female passenger Ashley Barrientos (19yrs) were also placed under for Public Intoxication. The narcotic was recovered and taken to the Maverick County Sheriff's Office where it was tagged and placed in the Maverick County evidence locker. The 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 was inventoried and impounded by Briones Wrecker Service.
