April 30, 2019 - Maverick County Sheriff Daily Report


DAMAGE TO PROPERTY
Deputies were dispatched to Coyunda Street, where contact was  made with a male complainant who stated that at an unknown date and time, unknown subject(s) caused damage to the left side of his 2016 Black Ford Focus and White Chrysler Van that were stationed in the complainant’ property. A report was filed.

BURGLARY OF VEHICLE
Deputies were dispatched to Dalia Street, where contact was then made with a female complainant who stated that an unknown subject(s) gained unlawful entry into her 2000 Green Chevrolet Astro Van and took several instruments from the vehicle without her effective consent. A report was filed. 




MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT (MVA)
Deputies were dispatched to US Highway North 277 and Moore Avenue in reference to a motor vehicle accident.  Contact was made with driver of a 2006 white Mercury Malan who advised that he was traveling northbound on US Hwy 277 North when he then made a right turn onto Moore Avenue, causing him lose control and striking a 1999 Green Chevrolet Suburban that was stationary and unoccupied at the parking stall.  Driver refused medical attention at the time of report.  White Mercury Malan was towed away by Cantu’s Wrecker Service and Driver received a citation for Failure to provide a valid driver license and financial responsibility for the vehicle. A report was filed.

MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT (MVA)
Deputies were dispatched to US Highway 277 North and FM 1907 in reference to a motor vehicle accident. Contact was made with the driver of a 2016 Gold Freightliner who stated that he was traveling southbound on US Hwy 277 North when suddenly he noticed a 2015 black Chevy Tahoe attempted to pass him through the oncoming traffic lane, when suddenly driver of the 2015 back Chevy Tahoe side swipe his trailer multiple times causing for the Chevrolet Tahoe to lose control and going off the road striking a tree trunk.  Contact was made with driver of a 2015 black Chevrolet Tahoe who stated she attempted to pass the tractor trailer when she lost control causing driver to go off the road onto the brush area and striking a tree trunk. Vehicle had severe damage to the driver side and front center. EMS was summoned to location for driver and occupants of the Chevrolet Tahoe, medical treatment and transportation was refused. Driver of the Tahoe received a citation for Failure to show valid identification. Wrecker Service was summoned, and the Chevrolet Tahoe was impounded.

Occupants of Unit # 1: Danae Perez (22 YOA) and female child (3 YOA)
Unit # 2: 2016 Gold Freightliner Cascadia - Driver: 2 Stacy Runnels (26 YOA)

DECEASED PERSON
Deputies were dispatched to Rio Grande River, River Vega. Contact was made with Border Patrol Agent who stated the body was located floating in the River. The Justice of the Peaked arrived on location where they pronounced the person deceased. Memorial Funeral Service was summoned to location to recover the body.

WANTED PERSON
CBP Agents detained a male subject identified as Tomas Villasenor (65, Eagle Pass) after a background check revealed an active warrant out of Maverick County Sheriff’s Office for Probation Violation. Villasenor was then placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for further processing.  

DOG BITE
Deputies responded to a dog bite at the 400 Block of Zaragoza St. Contact was made with the complainant, who stated her 14 year old daughter was walking down the street when 3 dogs that appeared to be Pit-Bulls exited a property and attacked her. The juvenile sustained several punctured wounds throughout her body and was transported to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center for further treatment.  Contact was later made with the owner of the dogs who advised she took the dogs to Mexico in which she was issued three citations for Animal At Large. Case under investigation.

WANTED PERSON
Deputies working Operation Stone Garden made contact with a suspicious male subject identified as Homero Castro (39, Eagle Pass). A background check revealed Castro with an active warrant out of Maverick County Sheriff’s Office for Aggravated Family Assault. Castro was then place under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for further processing. 

THEFT
Deputies were dispatched to 1040 Venesa Street where male complainant stated that a known female subject is refusing to return several tools that belong to his place of employment after leaving them in the known female subject’s vehicle. A report was filed.

ASSAULT FAMILY VIOLENCE
Deputies were dispatched to 159 8th of January Street where a male complainant stated that a known male subject (family member) suddenly assaulted him by punching him in the back of the head. A report was filed.
