April 26, 2019 - Maverick County Sheriff Daily Report


Criminal Mischief

Deputies were called to the 1700 Block of Wilson Street where a female complainant reported that she had noticed her vehicle’s gas tank had been filled with household sugar; she further stated that she has been threatened by a known male subject that she believes could of poured sugar in the vehicle’s gas tank. A report was filed.

Possession of Marijuana (POM)

Deputies were called to the Border Patrol Checkpoint located on HWY 57 in reference to a detained male subject for possession of marijuana. The Border Patrol Agent recovered an electronic cigarette device containing a brown liquid and several cubes of gelatin infused with Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) oil. Josue Bellorin (25, resident of San Antonio, Texas) was arrested and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for further processing, the vehicle was impounded.

Motor Vechicle Accident (MVA)

Deputies were dispatched to the intersection Tierra Soberana and Quail Valley Trail in reference to a MVA. Contact was made with Rodolfo Jimenez (74, resident of Uvalde, Texas) driver of a blue color 2017 Dodge Ram Truck. Jimenez reported that while traveling northbound on Tierra Soberana, a white 2014 Jeep traveling westbound on Quail Valley attempted to make a right turn when the Jeep struck the blue 2017 Dodge Ram while entering Tierra Soberana. The driver of the Jeep, Dennis Alex Johnson (51, Eagle Pass, Texas) was cited for failing to provide proof of insurance for the Jeep. The vehicle was impounded. All parties refused medical attention.

 Theft

Deputies were dispatched to the 3100 Block of Tina Drive and made contact with a complainant who stated that an unknown subject forcibly opened the fenced back door to enter the residence, removing a welding machine without consent. A report was filed.

Burglary of Vehicle

Deputies were dispatched to the 3100 Block of Willie Drive in reference to burglary of vehicle report. The complainant reported that an unknown actor(s) gained unlawful entry to their 2003 Chevy Silverado that was in the process of being repaired. The complainant stated that the unknown actor(s) removed the vehicles stereo. A report was filed.  

Burglary of Vehicle

Deputies were dispatched to the 3100 Block of Willie Drive in reference to burglary of vehicle report. The complainant reported that an unknown actor(s) gained unlawful entry to their 2003 Ford F-150 that and continued ransacked the interior. The complainant stated that the unknown actor(s) did not remove anything from the vehicle. A report was filed.  

Wanted Person

Deputies were dispatched to Port of Entry (POE) #1 in reference to a wanted person. Johnathon Talamantes was detained by CBP Agents because of an active warrant for probation violation out of Maverick County as indicated by the TCIC/NCIC system. Talamantes was placed under arrest and transported to Tom Bowels Detention Center for processing.
