Maverick County Daily Reports-March 12, 2019

Public Intoxication-Patrol deputies this morning were dispatched to US Highway 277 north after US Border Patrol agents had detained a male subject who displayed signs of intoxication. Upon arrival at the location, contact was made with thirty-two-year-old Miguel Medina, who admitted to having consumed alcohol. He was taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Possession of Marijuana under 2 oz.-Deputies arrested Marcel Witter at the international port of entry #1 this morning after agents at the port had detained Mr. Witter when he was found in possession of marijuana. Upon arrival at the port, Mr. Witter took ownership of the narcotic and he was taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Identity Theft-A complainant reported an unknown subject(s) had taken out several credit cards under his name without his consent. A formal report was filed.

Motor Vehicle Accident-Units responded to the 1600 block of Wagon Wheel Road this evening, whereupon arrival observed a Sportsman ATV had been involved in an accident. Contact was made with the driver of the ATV, who reported he had struck a dog that was crossing the roadway, causing him to lose control of the vehicle and roll over. The driver, along with two female passengers were transported to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center ER for further treatment. A citation was also issued to the driver for operating the ATV on a public roadway.

Criminal Mischief-A complainant on the 1700 block of Eidson Road reported a known female subject had propelled a rock at his 2016 Chevrolet Malibu and had broken a window. A formal report was filed.

Burglary of Vehicle-A resident on Calle Oaxaca reported unknown subject(s) had entered his 2006 KIA and took a firearm and holster from the vehicle. The firearm was registered into the system as a stolen firearm and a formal report was filed.
