Maverick County Daily Reports-November 21, 2018

Possession of a Controlled Substance/Unlawful Delivery or Manufacturing with Intent to Distribute-Oscar Casarez Jr. was placed under arrest this morning after Maverick County Probation officers reported he was found in possession of a controlled substance. Criminal Investigations detectives arrived at the location on the 100 block of Canal Street, where charges of possession and of unlawful delivery or manufacturing with the intent to distribute were placed on Mr. Casarez. He was then transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Wanted Person-A unit responded to the international port of entry #1 this afternoon after agents at the port detained a male subject when a check revealed an active warrant for his arrest. The warrant for the subject, Abundio Castro Morales, out of  Hays County was confirmed. Mr. Castro was taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Possession of a Stolen Vehicle/Recovered Stolen -A deputy met with United States Border Patrol agents after two male subjects had been detained when it was revealed the vehicle they had been traveling in was reported stolen. The two subjects, Hector Cantu Medina and Victor Ramos Pina were placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.


Burglary of Habitation-A resident on the 700 block of Vienna Street reported unknown subject(s) had entered her apartment without consent and had ransacked the home. A formal report was filed.

Motor Vehicle Accident with a Fixed Object/Possession of a Controlled Substance/Driving under the Influence-A county unit responded to Lucky Eagle Road this evening, whereupon arrival made contact with the driver of a 2014 Ford Fusion who reported she had missed a curb on the road, causing her to go over a concrete pillar. Mayra Eunice Perez, the driver of the Fusion, appeared to be under the influence of marijuana at the time of contact and would admit to having consumed alcohol prior to driving. A search of the vehicle yielded the discovery of a clear plastic baggie containing three alprazolam pills. Edgar Martinez, the passenger in the vehicle, took ownership of the baggie. The two refused medical attention at the time of the report. They were placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Driving While Intoxicated-Omar Salazar was placed under arrest on DWI charges this evening after deputies conducting a traffic stop found him in an intoxicated state. He was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
