Maverick County Daily Reports-November 20, 2018

DWI-A deputy patrolling FM1021 early this morning made contact with the driver of a 2009 Toyota Tundra found stopped in the middle of the roadway. The driver, who was found asleep behind the wheel, emitted a strong alcoholic odor emitting from his person and admitted to being intoxicated and having consumed approximately five beverages prior to contact. Ignacio H. Garcia would agree to submit a breath specimen and the deputy formed the opinion that he was a danger to himself and the motoring public. He was taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Disorderly Conduct-Deputies arrested Mara Magdalena Mendez this morning after responding to a disturbance on the 1600 block of Baltica Street. Upon arrival, Ms. Mendez was seen acting in a disorderly fashion and a neighbor reported Ms. Mendez had attempted to throw several objects at her. She would be transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Terroristic Threat-A resident on the 700 block of Calle Progresso reported her ex-girlfriend had threatened to kill her for ending a relationship. A formal report was filed.

Theft-A complainant on the 500 block of Linares Street reported unknown subject(s) had stolen the copper wire and power supply hub at a residence. A formal complaint was filed.

Deadly Conduct-A deputy responded to the 3100 block of Juan Circle after a resident reported unknown subject(s) had fired a gun at her property, piercing the wall to her home. A formal report was filed.

Family Violence/Assault/Interference with an Emergency Request for Assistance-Units responded to the 300 block of Rosita Valley Road this evening after a complainant reported she had been assaulted by a male subject when he struck her in the facial area. In the midst of dialing 91 for assistance, the subject identified as Daniel Anthony Bueno grabbed her phone and tossed it to the ground. Mr. Bueno was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
