Possession of Marijuana under 2 oz.-A deputy responded to the United States Border Patrol checkpoint on US Highway 57 early this morning after agents detained a female subject found in possession of marijuana. Mariela Yvette Pinedo was taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
Fraud-A complainant arrived at the Maverick County Sheriff's Office to report she had been paid approximately $2,300.00 one month ago in form of a cashier's check she had received via mail to perform evaluations at a local store. The complainant further stated she had deposited the check and was asked by the company to mail three money orders totaling $1920.00 to an address provided, however, found that her account was overdraft in the amount of $2,287.92 this morning. A formal report was filed.
Public Intoxication-A unit responded to a residence on the 700 block of Wagon Wheel Road this evening after a resident reported an unknown subject on his property. Upon arrival, a sheriff's deputy observed a male subject holding an alcoholic beverage in his hand knocking on the door. Contact was made with the subject who was found in an intoxicated state. He was taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
