Maverick County Daily Reports-September 21, 2017

Theft-A complainant on Eagle Nest reported a known male subject had taken several items from her purse without consent, including 300.00 dollars in cash, a gold necklace, and a gold pendant. The complainant also stated the subject borrowed her car a few days ago and refuses to return it.

Wanted Person-Becky Lee Mendoza was arrested this afternoon after a check revealed an active warrant out of Maverick County. She was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Deceased Person-Units responded to the Leonard Ranch this afternoon after United States Border Patrol agents had located a male subject found in the Rio Grande River. The subject was retrieved from the river but was unresponsive. A Justice of the Peace would later pronounce the male subject deceased.

Assault, Burglary of Building, Burglary of Vehicle-Edgar Martinez was arrested early this morning after a complainant on the 800 block of Frente Street reported he had been physically assaulted by Mr. Martinez in the midst of a burglary in progress. Mr. Martinez had apparently taken several items without consent from a home under remodeling and a vehicle outside the home. Mr. Martinez was then transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.


Possession of a Controlled Substance-Francisco Javier Gomez was arrested early this morning after he was found to be in possession of narcotics during a routine traffic stop. Mr. Gomez was then transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Deceased Person-A Deputy was dispatched to the Stone Ranch in El Indio, Texas this morning after Border Patrol agents in the field came upon an unresponsive male subject in the brush area. The subject would later be declared deceased by Justice of the Peace Madera at approximately 4:20 AM.
