Maverick County Daily Reports-January 29, 2017

Evading Arrest or Detention/Resisting Arrest-Deputies responded to Siesta Drive area by Tina drive in reference to a possible intoxicated person in the area. Upon arival, contact was made with thirty year-old Hector Jimenez, who evaded the scene on foot. A search of the area for Mr. Jimenez was conducted, where he was later located and resisted arrest. He was placed under custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Wanted Person-Elias Bulmaro Lopez, Jr. was placed under arrest at the international port of entry #1 this when a background check revealed an active warrant out of Hays County. Mr. Lopez was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Motor Vehicle Accident with Livestock-Units responded to US Highway 277 after a Ford Explorer struck two cows that suddenly crossed the roadway. No injuries were reported at the scene.

Deceased Person-Deputies were diasptched to the White Head Ranch late this afternoon, where human remains were found. Upon arrival, the Justice of the Peace ordered the remains be examined for DNA purposes.

Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon-A complainant reported his ex-common law wife had arrived at the Casino parking lot, where a verbal argument ensued. The argument escalated and the ex-wife stabbed him three times in the abdomen area. This case is under investigation.

Motor Vehicle Accident-A unit responded to the Normandy area in Northern Maverick County when the driver of a semi-trailer veered off of the highway in order to avoid a deer. The vehicle struck a fence line pole, causing damages to the front bumper area.

Evading Arrest with a Motor Vehicle/Wanted Person-Deputies conducting a traffic stop on Thompson Road were led on a brief pursuit when the driver of a vehicle failed to yield. The pursuit continued until the vehicle came to a stop at the intersection of Stag and Venado, when the driver fled on foot. Richard John Rodriguez was later caught. A background check also revealed an active warrant for his arrest. Mr. Rodriguez was taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing,.
