Maverick County Daily Reports-January 30, 2017

Wanted Person-Jose Arturo Valenzuela was taken into custody this morning when a background check revealed an active warrant for his arrest out of Maverick County. The warrant was confirmed and he was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Possession of a Controlled Substance-A County unit responded to the international port of entry #2 this morning, where CBP agents conducting a secondary inspection on a transportation bus discovered ten cans containing a cream-like substance made of marijuana. The cans were recovered and Medina Gonzalez of Piedras Negras, Coah. was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Wanted Person/Public Intoxication-Units responded to Loop 480, near Baltica Drive after Border Patrol agents detained an intoxicated male subject, later identified as Adrian Jose Flores. A check on Mr. Flores further revealed an active warrant for his arrest. He was taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Motor Vehicle Accident-Deputies responded to Lucky Eagle Road, where the driver of  a 2003 GMC Sierra lost control of the vehicle and veered off the road into the brush area. Skyler George Lopez was then transported to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center ER for further treatment.

Wanted Person-Bernardo Benjamin Flores was placed under arrest this evening when a background check revealed three active warrants out of the Maverick County Sheriff's Office. Mr. Flores was taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Recovered Narcotics-Deputies patrolling the Maverick County Lake this evening conducted a search on a 2007 Chevrolet Impala after a strong marijuana scent was found emitting from the vehicle during initial contact. A cigarillo pouch (4ks) was located in the center console and was transported to the Maverick County Sheriff's evidence locker.
