Maverick County Daily Reports-September 02, 2016

Theft/Wanted Person-Units responded to Casino Grocery #1, where a store manager reported a male individual identified as Claudio Salazar attempted to leave the store with several unpaid items in his possession. A background check on Mr. Salazar further revealed an outstanding warrant for his arrest out of the Maverick County Sheriff's Office. Mr. Salazar was taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Possession of Marijuana under 2 oz.-Agents at the US Border Patrol checkpoint detained a male subject identified as Billy Jermel Rabion after he was found to be in possession of marijuana. Mr. Rabion was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Wanted Person-Brennan Charles Long was placed under arrest after a traffic stop revealed an active warrant out of Maverick County. Mr. Long was then transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Possession of Marijuana under 2 oz-A traffic stop on a 2006 Dodge Stratus revealed the driver to be in possession of marijuana. Jose Luis Ramirez, Jr. was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Motor Vehicle Accident-Deputies responded to FM1021 and Loop 480 this evening after a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado traveling east at a high rate of speed on FM1021 rolled over. Witnesses at the scene stated they observed the vehicle head into the center lane to avoid striking a vehicle entering FM1021 from Loop 480. The Silverado then struck a guard rail and rolled over into a ditch. The driver, twenty-three year old Eduardo Martinez was placed under arrest on DWI charges. A twenty-two year old passenger was transported to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center for further evaluation. This case is under investigation.
