Maverick County Daily Reports-September 01, 2016

Motor Vehicle Accident-Deputies responded to US Highway 57 near the loop 480 intersection, where an 18-wheeler was involved in a single-vehicle rollover accident. Contact was made with the driver of the vehicle, who stated he had been traveling on Highway 57 early this morning when a deer crossed the highway, causing him to strike a guard rail. The impact itself caused the trailer to rollover on its side. The male driver would later be taken to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center ER for further treatment. The Texas Department of Public Safety arrived at the location and took over the scene.

Assault-A complainant on Eidson Road reported that his ex-girlfriend had forced herself into his residence and began physically assaulting him.

Motor Vehicle Accident/DWI-Deputies responded to a three-car motor vehicle accident on FM1021 this evening. At approximately 8:05PM, units were en route to the scene whereupon arrival, witnessed a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado with front left quarter panel damages, a 2009 Nissan Rogue with front center area damages, and a 2015 Chevrolet Cruse with damages to the right front quarter panel. Further investigation revealed the Silverado attempting to do a turnaround where it was struck by Chevrolet Cruse traveling in the opposite direction. The driver of the Nissan witnessed the accident, and in an attempt to avoid striking both vehicles, veered off to the right of the roadway and struck a fence line. The driver of the vehicle, Maria Louisa Whitman, and her passenger, Sylvia Nicole Guerra were both found in a highly intoxicated state and placed under arrest before being transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Possession of Marijuana under 2 Oz.-Christopher Michael Moreno was placed under arrest this evening after United States Border Patrol agents initially detained him when he was found to be in possession of marijuana. Mr. Moreno was taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles
Detention Center for processing.
