Maverick County Daily Reports-January 23, 2016

Injured Person-Deputies responded to Thompson Road in reference to an injured female near the rail road tracks. Upon arrival, officers spoke with Border Patrol agents, who stated a female subject attempting to grab a hold of a moving train had injured her right hand. Johanna Isabel Mejia Iracheta, a resident of Honduras, was transported by Air-Evac to a San Antonio Medical Center for further treatment.

Possession of Marijuana under 2 oz.-A male subject at the United States Border Patrol checkpoint on US Highway 57 was detained after a secondary inspection revealed the subject to be in possession of two cigarillos containing a green leafy substance. Deputies arrived at the local, where the substance tested positive for marijuana. Thirty-two year old Dario Wheeler was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Assault/Family Violence-A complainant on the 1100 block of Baltica told deputies her husband had assaulted her while inside the residence. Juan Antonio Martinez was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Criminal Mischief-Deputies responded to the 100 block of Pleasant Drive, where a female subject reported being involved in a verbal argument with her husband. The argument escalated and her car rear side window was broken after her husband threw a tire rim. The male subject fled the scene before deputies arrived at the scene.
