Maverick County Sheriff's Office-December 14, 2015

Information Report-Deputies responded to Eidson Road, where a motor vehicle crashed into a utility pole. Upon arrival, the driver of the vehicle had fled the scene but several open containers of alcohol were found in the center console area. The vehicle was impounded by a local wrecker service.

Public Intoxication-United States Border Patrol agents on Highway 277 East made contact with an individual who nearly lost control of his vehicle. Deputies arriving at the scene made contact with Jose Manuel Gallegos, who had admitted to having been consuming alcoholic beverages prior to the incident. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Criminal Mischief-A complainant on the 300 block of Zaragoza reported unknown subjects slashed the tires to her 2015 Dodge Charger.

Unauthorized use of a Motor Vehicle-Deputies were dispatched to the 2100 block of Del Rio Blvd. where a complainant stated his 2005 Nissan Altima had been taken without his consent. He would later contact the Sheriff's Office to report his vehicle had been recovered.

Family Violence/Assault-A deputy responded to Ranchitos Road after fielding a call of a possible domestic violence. Contact was made with a female subject who stated her husband had struck her in the face and had left the location.

Possession of Marijuana under 2 Oz.-United States Border Patrol agents contacted the Maverick County Sheriff's Office after detaining a male subject in possession of marijuana. Alberto Antonio Zamora was taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Theft-A complainant arrived at the Sheriff's office this afternoon to report that while at a thrift shop in Quemado, an unknown subject took her mobile phone without her consent.

Criminal Mischief-Deputies arrived at the 3800 block of Cross Creek, where a complainant reported his wife had broken the windshield to his 2002 Volkswagen with a golf club. He did not wish to file charges.

Motor Vehicle Accident with a Fixed Object-The driver of a 2001 Chevrolet Suburban lost control of the vehicle on FM 1021 this afternoon and collided into a light post, causing damages to the pole. The driver refused medical attention at the time of the report and the pole was replaced without incident.

Family Violence/Assault-Forty-seven year old Jesus Martinez was arrested after it was revealed he had assaulted his wife while having a verbal argument. He was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
