Maverick County Daily Reports-September 27, 2015

Possession of Marijuana under 2 oz. -Deputies conducted a traffic stop 2008 white Chevrolet Malibu at approximately 1:19 AM this morning. Further investigation of the Malibu, which was initially stopped for disregarding a stop sign, revealed that Hector Navarette Jr. was in possession of a clear plastic baggie containing marijuana. Mr. Navarette was arrested and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Family Violence/Assault-A complainant on Black Tail Rd. stated she was physically assaulted by her husband while having an argument.

Assault-A complainant reported to deputies she had been struck repeatedly by three female, causing sever bruising to her facial area.

Recovered Narcotics-Deputies were dispatched to the Casino Grocery on FM 1021 and FM 2030 in regards to recovered narcotics. Upon arrival, a tribal police department officer advised that an unknown female had located two yellow baggies containing what appeared to be cocaine. The bags were recovered and transported to the Maverick County Sheriff's office, where they were placed in the evidence locker.

Criminal Mischief-a female complainant on the 1300 block of Antelope advised that an unknown actor(s) broke the rear window to her vehicle at an unknown time.

Unauthorized use of a Motor Vehicle-A complainant arrived at the Maverick County Sheriff's Office to report he had parked his 2003 grey Kia Spectra near the Lindburgh apartments and that an unknown time, unknown actor(s) had taken his vehicle without his consent.

Information Report-Deputies responded to US Highway 57, where a 20015 white Nissan Versa was involved in a rollover accident. Contact was made with the driver, Aaron Guillermo Salas Rodriguez of Piedras Negras, Coahuila, who stated he was traveling Northbound on US Highway 57 when the steering column became stiff. The vehicle veered to the right, causing it to rollover. Mr. Salas Rodriguez was transported to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center for further treatment. The Texas Department of Public Safety arrived at the scene and has since taken over the investigation.

Family Violence/Assault-Units were dispatched to the 100 block of Park Street, where a female complainant stated she was involved in a physical altercation with her husband. Deputies were able to make contact with the male aggressor, Felipe Avila, who state he was consuming alcoholic beverages when he became aggressive with his wife and struck her with his cellular phone. After further investigation, Mr. Avila was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Wanted Person-Deputies were dispatched to the international Port of Entry #1 after agents detained a male subject on an active warrant. Sergio Hernandez Melchor was arrested after a warrant out of Hidalgo County was confirmed. He was then transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Wanted Person-A male subject attempting to enter the United States via the international Port of Entry #2 was detained after a background check revealed an active warrant. Aramando Benavidez was arrested after deputies confirmed the warrant out of Frio County. He was  transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Possession of Marijuana under 2 oz.- A deputy patrolling spur 216 observed a 2005 maroon Mitsubishi SUV traveling without any taillights. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle, and upon making contact with the occupant, the deputy detected a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. The driver, Joe Anthony Mata, was asked to step out of the vehicle, and a search of the vehicle revealed a small, clear plastic baggie containing a green leafy substance that tested positive for mairjuana. Mr. Mata was placed under arrest transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
