Maverick County Daily Reports-September 28, 2015

Possession of Marijuana under 2 oz.-Nineteen year old Mario Alberto Diaz was arrested after it was revealed he was in possession of a plastic baggie containing marijuana. He was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Wanted Person-Deputies were dispatched to the Maverick County Adult Probation Department in reference to a wanted person. A background computer check on Clinton Wilson Richie revealed an active warrant for a probation violation. Mr. Richie was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Damage to Property-The driver of a City of Eagle Pass dump truck traveling west bound on FM 1021 struck the traffic light located at the intersection of Tierra Zambrano and FM 1021, when the left tail gate was unintentionally left open.The driver was notified of the situation and returned to the scene without further incident.

Motor Vehicle Accident-Two vehicles traveling southbound on Las Quintas Blvd. were involved in a motor vehicle accident this afternoon, when a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado collided into a 2013 Chevrolet Express G3500 who had stopped for traffic. The occupants of both vehicles refused medical attention at the time of the report.

Information Report-Units were dispatched to Highway 131 after a tractor trailer rollover caused a temporary closure. Eyewitnesses stated the tractor trailer had a blown out tire, causing the driver, Jorge Eduardo Ocadiz, to lose control and roll over. Kinney County EMS crews arrived at the scene and transported Mr. Ocadiz to the Val Verde Regional Medical Center for further treatment.

Motor Vehicle Accident-A deputy responded to US Highway 277 North near FM 1889 shortly before 7:00 PM, where a 2001 Mercury Sable was involved in an accident, causing damages to its undertow. Contact was made with the driver of the Sable who stated he was traveling southbound on 277 when he noticed a crankshaft on the roadway and struck it. The deputy was able to make contact with the owner of the crankshaft from a 2000 white Ford F-250, who said the pickup had mechanical problems when the crankshaft had broken off. Both parties refused medical attention at the time of the report.
