Maverick County Daily Reports-September 25, 2015

Evading Arrest with a Motor Vehicle/Possession of Marijuana/Wanted Person-At approximately 1:34 this morning, deputies patrolling US Highway 277 North encountered a 2002 Dodge Neon traveling at an excessive speed (86MPH/45MPH Zone). The deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop by activating his emergency lights but the Neon refused to initially stop, leading to a brief chase. The vehicle came to a complete stop near the Elm Creek area and the driver, identified as Cesar Diaz was placed under arrest for evading arrest and possession of marijuana charges. His passenger, Hector Chaires, was arrested when a check revealed an outstanding warrant out of Maverick County. Mr. Chaires was also found to be in possession of marijuana. Both individuals were transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. 

Wanted Person/Public Intoxication-Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a Mazda Navajo near the intersection of Wagon Wheel Road and Mari Street this morning, where the driver was found to have an active warrant out of the Maverick County Sheriff's Office. Twenty five year-old Maquelle Salazar was arrested on failure to appear charges. Two passengers, Ramon Jimenez amd Marco Salazar, who showed signs of intoxication, were arrested on public intoxication charges. All three were then transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Theft-A complainant on Lehmann Street stated that on an unknown time and date, unknown actor(s) entered his property and took a black compressor valued at $300.00

Deceased Person-Units were dispatched to Yucca Loop shortly after the 12:00 PM hour, when a ninety-one year old male subject was found lifeless. After making contact with the subject's daughter, it was revealed that the male had been diagnosed with leukemia. Justice of the Peace Castaneda arrived at the location and pronounced the male subject deceased.
