Maverick County Daily Reports-August 14, 2015

Evading Arrest with a Motor Vehicle-A county unit patrolling FM 1021 was involved in a  short pursuit this morning, after witnessing a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. At approximately 3:00 AM , a deputy observed a red Dodge pick up truck traveling at 91 miles per hour and attempted to make a traffic stop. The driver, identified as Corey Garza Correa, initially refused to stop and led the deputy in pursuit until reaching the riverside acres area on Tierra Soberana. Mr. Garza Correa was placed under arrest for evading arrest. His passenger, Alex Garcia, was arrested on public intoxication charges. 

Burglary of Vehicle-Deputies responded to the Balcones Blvd. and Tesoro Loop area on three separate occasions this afternoon in reference to burglaries of vehicles. On each occasion, the complainant told deputies that unknown subject(s) had gained entry into their vehicles without consent and had stolen several items.

Assault- A complainant on the 1300 block of Minerva Street advised deputies that a known male, identified as Ramon Sanchez, began to push him several times. Mr. Sanchez was placed under arrest for said assault and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center, where he was later released on citation.

Information Report-Deputies responded to the 800 block of Escondido, where a male subject had been involved in an altercation with a known male at an unknown location, date, or time. Officers noticed the male had a large laceration on his arm, for which the complainant refused medical attention.

Hit and Run-Units were dispatched to the 200 block of Alamo Street, where a resident's parked vehicle was struck by a 1989 grey Chevrolet. The Chevrolet fled the scene towards an unknown location.

Wanted Person-A person attempting to enter the United States via the international Port of Entry #1 was detained after a database check  revealed an open warrant. Julian Jose Ramirez was arrested and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Family Violence/Assault/DWI -A complainant on White Tail told deputies that he and his son, later identified as Hugo Adrian Beltran, began to argue for an unknown reason. He further stated that his son had grabbed him by the shirt and had pushed him several times. While filing the report, the young Beltran arrived at the location, with a strong smell of alcohol emitting from his person and breath. He also spoke with a slurred speech and had unbalanced movements. Mr. Beltran was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated as well as family violence assault. He was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Burglary of Vehicle-A complainant reported to officers that unknown subject(s) had scratched her vehicle and broke her vehicle mirrors. The subject(s) also took a camera without her consent. The incident occurred on the 200 block of Santa Fe.

Suicide-County units responded to a possible suicide call in Quemado, Texas this evening, shortly before 11:30 PM. Deputies arrived at the scene to find a female deceased. Further investigations revealed that the female had died die to a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest.
