Maverick County deputies responded to an aggravated assault call that left one person in the hospital early Sunday morning. At approximately 5:27 AM, officers arrived at the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center Emergency Room and made contact with a male victim, who told officials he was at a gathering at a residence in Deer Run when a known male subject assaulted him by slashing him with a sharp object. The victim, who suffered a deep laceration to his left forehead and severely bruised left eye, was airlifted to San Antonio for further medical treatment. This case remains under investigation.
