Deputies patrolling Eidson Road in the early hours Sunday morning were involved in a vehicle pursuit. At approximately 12:32 AM, county units observed a 2014 Jeep Compass fail to maintain a single lane at the intersection of Eidson Road and Callejon Terran. Upon turning on emergency lights to conduct a traffic stop for the offense, deputies noticed the Jeep refused to stop as it proceeded south on Callejon Terran. County dispatchers were advised as a pursuit ensued as the vehicle continued west on Calle Encuentro. The pursuit came to halt when the jeep chose to stop on the 600 block of Barbara Street. The driver, later identified as Mario Alberto Hernandez, Jr., was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated and for Evading Arrest with a Motor Vehicle. Mr. Hernandez was then transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
