Maverick County Sheriff's Office(PRESS RELEASE)-November 24, 2014


Maverick County deputies responded to an injured person that was shot while hunting at the Tovar Ranch on FM 1021 East Saturday afternoon, minutes past the 4:45 PM hour. Officers arrived at the ranch and spoke with James Wesley Christian, who said he was hunting with five friends when one friend shot in the brush area intending to shoot at a quail.  Mr. Christian was standing in that direction when the shot was fired and was struck in the face, shoulder, and chest  area with the bird shot. Mr. Christian complained of chest and heart pains due to wounds and was transported to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center for treatment.
