Sheriff's units responded to a motor vehicle accident Tuesday morning, at approximately 8:12 AM, near the intersection of Highway 277 North and Dr. Gates Drive. Deputies arrived to make contact with Laurence Murtagh, the driver of a 2001 red Volkswagen Beetle, whose vehicle suffered front-end damages. A second vehicle involved, a 2000 white Mercury van driven by Dora Elia Hernandez, suffered damages to the rear of the vehicle. Emergency Services crews arrived to treat for injuries at the the scene. Ms. Hernandez was later transported to the the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center for further medical treatment. This accident remains under investigation.
