Maverick County Sheriff's Office(PRESS RELEASE)-August 3, 2014
The Maverick County Sheriff's Office received a call regarding a vehicle on fire in Siesta Acres Sunday evening, at 9:54 PM. Deputies arrived to the 1400 block of Mirasol Drive to observe a 1998 blue Pontiac, emitting flames from the front hood engine area. Fire Department crews managed to control the fire and extinguish it before it engulfed the whole vehicle. The vehicle owner advised that he had an issue with the car battery months begore and believes that may have caused the fire. The estimated value of the damages caused by the fire is unknown.
