MVA on Loop 480 and El Indio Highway

Maverick County Sheriff's Office(PRESS RELEASE)-Deputies responded to a motor vehicle accident on FM 1021(El Indio Highway) and Loop 480 on Friday, May 9, 2014. Deputies arrived at aproximatley 9:05 AM to find a gray 2004 Mercedes Kompressor involved in a collision with a black 1995 Ford F-150. Upon further investigation, deputies concluded that the gray Mercedes, driven by forty year old Cindy Samaniego, carrying sixty-five year old Augustin Romero as passenger, was stationary at  a stop sign  at Loop 480, facing southwest. The Mercedes then proceeded to enter El Indio Highway when it collided with the ford pickup, driven by sixty-seven year old Juan Hector Guevara, who was traveling northwest on El Indio Highway. Mr. Guevara requested medical attention at the scene and was then transported to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center Emergency Room via ambulance for further medical treatment. The occupants of the other vehicle refused medical attention.
