Maverick County Sheriff's Office(PRESS RELEASE)-Sheriff's deputies made contact with patrol agents by La Mesa Ranch on Highway 277 East Wednesday afternoon, just past 1:15 PM. Agents advised deputies that ranchers were in the midst of gathering cattle when they found what appeared to be human remains. Agents were able to locate a school ID of a female in her early twenties. Several clothing items were also recovered. It was unknown for how long the human remains had been laying at said location on the ranch. This case is under investigation.
