Maverick County Sheriff's Department(PRESS RELEASE)-The driver of a white 1998 Ford Explorer is deceased after being involved in a rollover accident on Highway 481. Deputies responded to calls reporting an accident at approximately 5:00 PM on Friday, April 25th. near the entrance of Saner North Ranch. Upon arrival, deputies were able to make contact with the female passenger of the vehicle, identified as Lindsay Cardenas out of Uvalde, Texas, who advised agents that she was several months pregnant. Ms. Cardenas was transported to Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center for treatment. Trinidad Ruiz III, a resident of Uvalde, Texas, was identified as the driver. Mr. Ruiz was pronounced deceased by Justice of the Peace Jeannie Smith at 6:08 PM. The Texas Department of Public Safety has taken over the investigation.
