Early Morning Accident on Loop 480

Maverick County Sheriff's Office(PRESS RELEASE)-Maverick County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident on FM 1021 and Loop 480 Friday morning, at approximately 05:13 A.M. Deputies made contact with Mr. Aniceto Gonzalez, the driver of a black 2001 Ford F-150 and  Mr. Jose De Los Santos, the driver of a brown 1999 GMC Sierra pick up. Mr. De Los Santos was driving northwest bound on FM 1021 when Mr. Gomez, driving southwest bound on FM 1021, failed to yield to northwest bound traffic onto loop 480, colliding with Mr. De Los Santos. EMS were at the scene of the accident and treated Mr. De Los Santos, who refused further medical treatment. Mr. Gomez was transported to Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center for further medical evaluation. The Eagle Pass Fire Department assisted in the cleanup and both unserviceable vehicles were impounded.
