Maverick County Sheriff's Office(PRESS RELEASE)-On Sunday, March 9, 2014 at approximately 9:14 PM Sheriff's deputies responded to a motor vehicle accident involving livestock at the 8100 block of FM 1021(El Indio Highway). Upon arrival, deputies made contact with Miguel Angel Salinas, the driver of a 2004 black Dodge Ram pickup, who stated that he was traveling from El Indio, Texas to Eagle Pass, Texas with his family when a large cow crossed his path on the highway. Mr. Salinas further stated that he struck the cow, causing damages to the front left panel of his vehicle. The driver and his family refused medical treatment at the time of the incident. The livestock was removed from the highway and onto the side of the road.
