Maverick County Sheriff's Office (PRESS RELEASE)-Maverick County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to 1377 Wagon Wheel Road at approximately 8:09 AM Wednesday March 12, 2014 in reference to an apparent single motor vehicle accident. Deputies arrived to find that a 2000 Ford Windstar had damaged about forty feet of residential fence and collided with a tree on said property. Deputies then determined that the driver had fled the scene of the accident. The owner of the property was contacted and she stated she heard a very loud noise at approximately 3:00 AM. In the midst of working the scene of the accident, Sheriff's deputies were advised by Kickapoo Tribal Police that said vehicle was reported stolen from the Kickapoo tribe the night before. The vehicle was impounded and the case is under investigation
