PRESS RELEASE: Single Motor Vehicle Accident Causes Blackout


Maverick County Sheriff's Office (PRESS RELEASE)- Deputies responded to a call on the 4000 block of Deer Run Boulevard Sunday February 02, 2014 in reference to a motor vehicle accident with a fixed object. Upon arrival, deputies discovered a Maroon Chevrolet Pick-Up with extensive damage to its right side. The driver of the Chevrolet stated she veered into the incoming lane causing her to lose control of her vehicle, ultimately leading her off the roadway and striking a utility pole which caused electricity in the area to go out. EMS was summoned to the location of the accident where the passenger was treated and transported to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center. The female driver refused medical attention at the time of the report. AEP was called to the scene to repair damages caused by the accident.
