Assault/Family Violence/Possession of Marijuana under 2 oz.-Deputies responded to the 200 block of La Loma this evening in regards to a male subject attempting to commit suicide. Upon arrival at the location, deputies were able to detain an aggressive male subject, later identified as twenty-two year old Antonio Casares, who displayed bloodshot eyes and appeared to be under the influence of an unknown substance. Contact was then made with Mr. Casares's spouse who reported they had been involved in a verbal argument which led to a physical altercation. She further stated Casares then wrapped a wire around his neck and attempted to hang himself from a mount. EMS crews were at the scene, however, further medical attention was refused. Casares was placed under arrest and a pat down found him in possession of a small clear plastic baggie containing marijuana. He was then transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
