Public Intoxication- A traffic stop on a 2012 Dodge Ram observed travelling unsafely and at a high rate of speed on El Indio Highway this morning led to the arrest of twenty-four year old Antonio Solis III after he was found in an intoxicated state. A field sobriety test was conducted on Solis, who displayed an unstable balance and emitted a strong alcoholic odor from his person. He was then transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. 

Public Intoxication/Possession of Marijuana under 2 oz.-Units responded to US Highway 277 North at approximately 3 AM this morning after receiving reports of an assault with a deadly weapon. Upon arrival, contact was made with the driver and passenger of a 2020 Chevrolet Spark who were found in an intoxicated state. The driver, twenty-four year old Georgina Jimenez, told deputies her sister(passenger) had been assaulted by a known male subject at an unknown location and further stated the subject had shot at her vehicle with an unknown firearm. EMS crews arrived at the scene to transport the passenger to the Ft. Duncan Regional Medical Center for further treatment. Gerogina Jimenez was taken into custody on public intoxication charges and was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. 

Evading Arrest or Detention with a Motor Vehicle-Deputies patrolling Maverick County under Operation Stonegarden were led on a vehicle pursuit this morning when the driver of a tan 2010 Ford F-150 refused to stop. The pursuit continued until the driver, eighteen year old Jose Benites, came to a complete stop on FM 1908. he was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center. Four undocumented subjects found in the bed of the truck were turned over to US Border Patrol custody. 

Possession of a Controlled Substance-Deputies patrolling FM 1021 this afternoon conducted a traffic stop on a Chrysler 300 after a minor violation. Contact was made with twenty-four year old Erika Barrientos, and a search of the vehicle yielded the discovery of a clear glass pipe containing .56 grams of methamphetamine. Ms. Barrientos was then placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. 

Possession of a Controlled Substance-Deputies responded to the international port of entry 2 shortly before midnight this evening where a secondary inspection of a 2016 Ford F-350 led to the discovery of 7.7 kg of methamphetamine. The driver, forty-nine year old Gregorio Rodriguez Rodriguez, was taken into custody and transported to Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. This case remains under investigation. 

Possession of a Controlled Substance/Public Intoxication-A traffic stop at the intersection of FM 1021 and Las Quintas Blvd. led to the arrest of two male subjects who displayed signs of intoxication at the time of contact. Consent to search the vehicle was granted and deputies discovered a baggie containing a white powdery substance which would test positive for cocaine. The driver, Luis Angel Lira, was taken into custody. His passenger, Luis Martinez, was also taken into custody on public intoxication charges. The pair were then transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
