Wanted Person-Twenty-two year old Jose Luis Barrientos was taken into custody this morning after being detained at the US Border Patrol checkpoint on US Highway 57 when a check revealed an active warrant for his arrest out of Maverick County. The warrant was confirmed and Barrientos was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
Criminal Mischief/Family Violence-A complainant on Coyunda Street reported she had been involved in a verbal argument with her husband, twenty year old David Rodriguez, who become upset and physically assaulted her. The complainant further advised Rodriguez had caused damages to her vehicle, phone, and mother's vehicle. Mr. Rodriguez was then taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
Wanted Person/Evading Arrest-Units responded to the 800 block of Mikulinski Road this morning after receiving reports of unwanted male subject at the location. Upon arrival at the scene, deputies observed a male subject found in distress carrying a large kitchen knife in his left hand. Contact was made with the subject, later identified as forty-eight year old Josue Rocha, who refused to leave his knife despite several requests. Rocha told deputies he had planned to hurt himself prior to running towards the backyard of the residence. Deputies then followed suit and deployed pepper spray in an attempt to defuse the situation. Mr. Rocha continued on foot towards the canal area before ultimately stopping and complying to deputy commands. EMS crews were then summoned to the scene to perform a medical evaluation on the subject, who was later placed under arrest after a check revealed several active warrants out of Maverick County.
Wanted Person-Twenty-three year old Julianne Gabrielle Marquez was taken into custody at the international port of entry 1 this afternoon after being detained by agents at the port when a check revealed an active warrant for her arrest. The warrant out of Comal County was confirmed and Ms. Marquez was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
Theft of Property/Recovered Stolen Vehicle/Wanted Person-US Border Patrol agents advised deputies on patrol they had come across a white Ford Escape on US Highway 57 in an area known for illegal activity. Contact was made with thirty-four year old Shawn McGinnis, Jr., whose background check revealed several active warrant for his arrest out of Tom Green County. A check on the vehicle in which Mr. McGinnis was travelling in revealed it reported stolen out of San Angelo, Texas. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
A traffic stop on a 2010 Chrysler 300 on Wagon Wheel Road this evening yielded the discovery of approximately 30.85 grams of methamphetamine when the driver of the vehicle reported she was in possession of the drug after giving consent to search. Twenty-four year old Erika Barrientos was then taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. Her vehicle was towed by a local wrecker service.
