Maverick County Daily Reports-February 08, 2020

DWI/Motor Vehicle Accident-A resident on Alamo Street reported a red Chrysler 300 had struck two of his parked vehicles early this morning before leaving the scene of the accident. A search of the area yielded the discovery of a vehicle matching the description, and contact was made with the driver who displayed signs of intoxication. Damien Suke Salazar was then placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Motor Vehicle Accident/Hit and Run-A unit responded to Rosita Valley Road this morning after a resident reported a 2012 Mazda 3 travelling northbound had veered off the roadway, striking her fence. Unknown subjects then abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene. The vehicle was impounded to the Maverick County Sheriff's Office for further investigation.

Resisting Arrest-A traffic stop on a 2002 Dodge Ram early this morning resulted in the arrest of twenty-six year old Sergio Puente after deputies attempting to place him in hand restraints for safety purposes were met with resistance. After a brief struggle, Mr. Puente was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Possession of a Controlled Substance-Units responded to the port of entry #2 this morning after agents at the port detained a male subject  found in possession of a controlled substance. A secondary inspection of a white Chevrolet Express van driven by fifty-nine year old Ruben Carbajal Bueno yielded the discovery of approximately 6,460 grams of methamphetamine. Mr. Bueno was then placed under arrest and the vehicle was impounded to Maverick County Sheriff's Office. This case is under investigation.
