Maverick County Daily Reports-October 19, 2019

Disorderly Conduct-Edgar Enrique Rodriguez was taken into custody on disorderly conduct charges this morning after he was found acting in a vulgar and offensive manner towards his wife. He was then transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. 

Possession of Marijuana under 2 oz.-a deputy patrolling South Veterans Blvd. this morning conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle found travelling at a high rate of speed. Upon making contact with the occupants of the vehicle, the deputy noticed a strong marijuana odor emitting from the vehicle. Consent to search was given and a review yielded the discovery of three clear plastic baggies containing a green leafy substance on both the passenger and driver side of the vehicle. The two occupants, identified as thirty-one year old Gerardo Ariel Martinez and thirty-three year old Joseph Christopher Lara were placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. 

Family Violence/Assault-A unit responded to the 100 block of Maritza Street after a complainant reported she had been involved in an argument with her common-law husband which turned physical after he had become upset. The subject, forty year old Felipe Cabrera, was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. 

Family Violence/Assault-A complainant on the 1800 block of Eidson Road reported a verbal argument with her common-law husband turned into a physical assault after he became upset. The female subject further reported her husband had been under the influence of alcohol and narcotics at the time of the altercation. The subject in question fled the area prior to a deputies arrival. 

Wanted Person-Roberto Carlos De Los Santos was arrested at the United States Border Patrol checkpoint this evening after a check revealed an open warrant out of the US Marshals service on a probation violation. The warrant was confirmed and De Los Santos was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. 

Possession of a Controlled Substance-Alejandro Fernandez Duque was arrested this evening after a a secondary check of his 2008 Dodge Avenger yielded the discovery of 19 packages of heroin hidden inside a secret compartment. Duque was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center and the vehicle was seized and transported to the Maverick County Sheriff's Office.
